Stand-Up Comedy
Phyllis Dodd started her comedy career after a serious car accident that led to the amputation of her leg. The eternal optimist, Phyllis found that she needed to find a way to channel her energy to bring joy and laughter to others. As she began to "find her leg" in the comedy world, she entered the Jeanne Robertson Humor Competition and was named a finalist among hundreds of entrants!
Phyllis' comedic style is clean, yet sassy. She has a gift for drawing her audiences into her personal experiences and for building a close engagement with them throughout her set.
In addition to comedy clubs, Phyllis is available to do stand-up sets in a variety of other venues, including community centers, churches and senior living facilities.
Phyllis loves adapting her material to her specific audience. If you have a conference, a team-building occasion, or social event on your calendar, Phyllis is a great choice for your entire audience.
Phyllis is based in Cary, NC and performs throughout the "Research Triangle" area.
She is also available for engagements in the Carolinas and Virginia, including Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex. Fuquay-Varina, Wake Forest, Knightdale, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Wilimington, Greenville and Jacksonville, Richmond, Virginia Beach and Charleston.
