Phyllis is a retired physical education teacher who spent most of her life as an athlete in one way or another. After suffering the loss of her leg due to a serious car accident in 2017, Phyllis unexpectedly had to change her life completely and find a new normal. Through this process, Phyllis began speaking to groups about her experiences through North Carolina.
